This morning we begin Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church Center. I've chosen 25 of my favorite Bible verses and will share five each day this week. No commentary. No teaching. Just the Word of God speaking for itself, speaking with power, speaking with wisdom.

June 2, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Friday, June 2.

You're familiar, I'm sure, with the statement, "It takes a village to raise a child". Well, I believe that this statement is also true, "It takes a church to raise a child". In Proverbs 22:16, we find this statement, "Start children off on the way that they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it".

On this day, about 90 years ago, an infamous event happened about 90 miles from Center, Texas. A posse of lawmen laid a trap and ambushed a car. They poured 130 rounds of ammunition into that car, and when the firing finally stopped, 25-year-old Clyde Barrow and 23-year-old Bonnie Parker lay dead.

David's Daily Devotion for May 22

May 22, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Monday, May 22.

Yesterday, in my broadcast Sunday School lesson, we studied the famous passage in Ephesians 6, where the Apostle Paul encourages us to "put on the full armor of God". Paul wrote those inspiring words to the church in Ephesus from Rome. He had always dreamed of going to Rome, as a missionary, as a church-planter, as a preacher. But when he finally arrived in that great city, he came as a prisoner.
