Houston is my hometown. And on January 3, 1962, something extraordinary began there, a dream really. On that day, ground was broken on a new kind of sports stadium, a "domed" stadium. It was the first of its kind in the world. There are many in the world now, but the Astrodome was the first.

There are some Christmas songs that really don't have anything to do with Christmas. It was designed to provide education to all those who had recently become freedmen and freedwomen. Fisk is among a number of these kinds of schools that still exist today - Spelman University in Atlanta, Howard in Washington D.C., Xavier in New Orleans - just to name a few.
December 15, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Friday, December 15.

December 14, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Thursday, December 14.
My daughter was 27 when she got married, my wife was 20 when we tied the knot, and my mom wed my dad at the tender young age of 17. The history of my family parallels the changes in our culture regarding average marriage ages and leads us to the Christmas question - how old was Mary when she gave birth to Jesus?
December 23, 2023 - There are many gospel songs that ask a question - "What wondrous love is this?", "What can wash away my sin?", "Were you there?". And a number of carols as well - "Do You Hear What I Hear?, "Mary, Did You Know?", and our focus for this morning, "What Child is This?"
