October 29, 2015 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, Santa’s Christmas Parade Committee announces the 2015 parade will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The theme for the parade this year is Christmas Movies and Songs and presented by Shelby Savings Bank.
October 28, 2015 - The 3rd Annual Taste of the Holidays, hosted by Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and presented by Shelby Savings Bank, will be held on Friday, November 6 from 5pm until 7pm at the Windham Civic Center. Space is limited and the deadline to purchase tickets is Monday, November 2. Tickets are $25 per person which will cover both admission costs to the Taste of the Holidays and the Pinecone and Mistletoe Christmas Market for two days.
October 21, 2015 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite the public to join them at a new member ribbon cutting for the Janell Grum Family Crisis Center of East Texas and Chairman of the Board, Jim McReynolds and Heather Kartye, Executive Director, on Thursday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. The Family Crisis Center is located at 616 Tenaha Street in Center.
September 11, 2015 - The East Texas Poultry Festival Chicken Cooking Contest, sponsored by Tyson Foods, features creative and delicious chicken dishes. The 2015 contest will be held Wednesday, September 23, immediately following the Doo Dah Parade, sponsored by Center Tire Co., on the Historic Downtown Center Square with judging at 5:00 p.m. Participants will need to be set up and ready to go before judging begins.
August 25, 2015 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite the public to join them at a New Member Ribbon Cutting for Daily Bakery & Tortilleria and owners, Omar and Edey Rivera on Friday, August 28th at 10:00 a.m. Daily Bakery & Tortilleria is located at 812 Shelbyville Street in Center.
Free coffee and bread will be offered during the Ribbon Cutting.

These events usher in the season prior to the Festival opening Thursday, October 1st.

August 20, 2015 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce recently announced the East Texas Poultry Festival will be October 1-3 on the historic downtown square. One of several preliminary festivities is the Queen's Court Scholarship Pageant. The reigning East Texas Poultry Festival Queen Zoey Stuever will crown her successor on Saturday, September 26 on stage at Center High School.
