David's Daily Devotion for January 8

January 8, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, January 8.

On this day, in 1935, a baby boy was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. His parents named him Elvis. The boy went on to become, arguably, the most famous entertainer in history. He sold more than 500 million records - second only to The Beatles. He was a cultural icon. He was the King of Rock and Roll.

David’s Daily Devotion for Jan. 7

January 7, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, January 7.

Did you celebrate Three Kings Day yesterday? No? It’s an important religious holiday to many, especially in our neighbor to the east, Louisiana, where they were enjoying king cakes and kicking off their carnival season. January 6, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, January 6.

Several faithful readers were kind enough to inform me that the year we are living in is actually 2026. Thanks! This was a reminder that it usually takes me about two weeks to settle in to the new number. Maybe you have that same problem. I was also reminded that we humans are often slow to adapt to change.

David’s Daily Devotion for Jan 2

January 2, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, January 2.

On January 2, 1902, a man applied for a patent on his brand new invention, an invention that would change America, an invention that would change the world. The man’s name was Willis Carrier, and he called his invention air conditioning. The Carrier Company still exists today, and it’s worth over 40 billion dollars.
