NWS Issues Tornado Warning; Storm Located Near Timpson

January 18, 2023 - The National Weather Service, Shreveport LA, issued a Tornado Warning at 11:31am on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Tornado Warning for West central De Soto Parish in northwestern Louisiana... Southeastern Panola County in northeastern Texas... and Northwestern Shelby County in eastern Texas... until 12:15pm CST.

Radar indicated rotation at 11:31am, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Timpson, or 12 miles northwest of Center, moving northeast at 35 mph.

Weather Alert: NWS Tornado Warning Includes Huxley Area

January 2, 2023 - The National Weather Service, Shreveport LA, issued a Tornado Warning at 3:12pm, Monday, January 2, 2023.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Tornado Warning for Southeastern De Soto Parish in northwestern Louisiana... Northwestern Sabine Parish in northwestern Louisiana… Southeastern Shelby County in eastern Texas... and Northwestern Sabine County in eastern Texas until 4:00 PM CST.

Weather Alert: NWS Issues Tornado Warning (Cancelled)

Update 3:05pm: The Tornado Warning for West Central Sabine Parish… Southeastern Shelby… Northeastern San Augustine… and Northwestern Sabine Counties is cancelled.

The tornadic thunderstorm which prompted the warning has weakened. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CST for northwestern Louisiana... and eastern Texas.

NWS Tornado Watch Until 9pm

January 2, 2023 - The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch outline update for WT 1 from the NWS Storm Prediction Center, Norman, OK at 1:20 PM CST, Monday, January 2, 2023.

Tornado Watch 1 is in effect until 9:00pm CST for the following locations in Texas: Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Red River, Rusk, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Upshur, and Wood.

January 2, 2023 - The National Weather Service issued a flood warning at 10:33pm, Sunday, January 1, 2023.

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas... Attoyac Bayou Near Chireno affecting Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Rusk and Shelby Counties.

For the Attoyac Bayou... including Chireno... Minor flooding is forecast.

January 2, 2023 - The National Weather Service, Shreveport, LA issued a Flood Watch at 11:06pm, Sunday, January 1, 2023. The Flood Watch remains in effect from Monday afternoon through late Monday night.

* WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

NWS Hard Freeze Warning Remains in Effect

December 23, 2022 - The National Weather Service, Shreveport, LA advises the hard freeze warning remains in effect until noon Saturday, December 24.

For the Hard Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 0 to 10 degrees this morning and in the low to mid teens once again tonight.

Areas impacted by the Hard Freeze is south central and southwest Arkansas, north central and northwest Louisiana, deep east and northeast Texas and southeast Oklahoma.

NWS Urgent Message: Hard Freeze Warning from Dec. 22 to Dec. 24

December 21, 2022 - The National Weather Service, Shreveport, LA issued an urgent weather message for a Hard Freeze Warning at 12:30pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 for counties in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.

A Hard Freeze Warning is in effect from 6pm Thursday, December 22 until noon Saturday, December 24.

* WHAT... Sub-freezing temperatures ranging from 4 to 12 degrees possible. In addition, below freezing temperatures will linger for an extended period of time.
