November 3, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, November 3.

Every month has some special days, except August, for some reason. No holidays in August, just hot days. But November has two big holidays. There’s the 11th, Veteran’s Day, and the 4th Thursday, Thanksgiving. Next week, in honor of our vets, we’ll do a series on the stories behind our patriotic songs. And the last week of the month, we’ll focus on thankfulness.

October 30, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, October 30.

There’s an old expression - “Chapter and Verse!” You don’t hear it much anymore. My daughters wouldn’t know it, but my parents certainly did. It typically appeared in conversations that included specifications and details. One person would ask, “Is that accurate?” And the other would reply, “Chapter and Verse!” The phrase obviously finds its roots in the layout of the Bible.

October 28, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, October 28.

We all managed to live through the Covid Pandemic. That was almost seven years ago now. But seventy years ago there was another pandemic which had an even greater impact on America. Its name was Polio. It struck an American president, Franklin Roosevelt, but most of its victims were children, ages five to ten. My parents grew up during that era, and so did my older brother and sister. But one year before I was born, in 1955, there came a miracle. A polio vaccine was developed by a scientist named Jonas Salk.

October 26, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, October 26.

On this day, in 1901, a bank robbery occurred in Paris, France. As they exited the bank, the thieves didn't leave on foot, or on horseback, or in a carriage. They made their escape in a new-fangled machine called an automobile. It was the world’s first “getaway car”!
